House Majority Nominates Pelosi to Remain Speaker

Vote to take place in January.

Members of the majority in the House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to nominate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for what would be her fourth term as the leader of the House. Every two years, following an election, members of the House vote on who will lead the chamber of Congress. Speaker Pelosi indicated once her nomination was confirmed that it would likely be her final time in this role.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and No. 3 party leader Jim Clyburn were also reelected into their positions. Speaker Pelosi laid out her plan for the upcoming 2021 Congress saying. “The theme, I think, of what we do next has to be about justice.” The full House will formally elect the next Speaker when the new Congress convenes in January, shortly before the presidential inauguration.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Lord to guide the House in the upcoming 2021 term.
  • That Congress would be able to effectively transition from this term to the next.
  • That God would use Speaker Pelosi to promote legislation to help all Americans in the year to come.
